Personal-use notice

Application Desk is a private tool for its owner’s job search. This page explains that intended use in plain language.

A privately operated workspace

The app runs locally on its owner’s Mac and has no public sign-up. Its saved opportunities, application materials, and mail-derived evidence form a personal working record.

This is a description of that use. The app is not being offered here as a public subscription service.

Connected accounts and owner control

The owner connects accounts they control and can pause or disconnect them in the app. Gmail access uses the read-only Gmail permission. Yahoo access uses an app password with a read-only IMAP client; the app password itself may allow broader provider access.

The privacy notice explains the credentials, selected message text, metadata, and evidence kept locally, including the records retained after disconnection.

Use the evidence before acting

Automatic classification and matching are aids to the owner’s review. They can be incomplete or wrong. The owner can inspect original-message references, review uncertain matches, ignore messages, and undo applied outcomes.

A tracker update does not by itself establish an employer decision, confirm an interview appointment, or complete an application. The original employer message or portal remains the source to check.

Mail-monitoring behavior

The mail service reads connected mailboxes and records selected relevant evidence locally. It does not send messages externally, submit applications, or write changes to the mailbox. It has no SMTP sending function and does not send mail text to external AI services.

Routine checks depend on a running service, an awake Mac, network access, and provider availability. The installed background service can continue with the browser tab closed. Catch-up runs in batches, so a recent connection may take time to finish its initial scan.
